Everyone needs a break, and Gateway Gardens is pleased to offer our community Short Term Stays also referred to as Respite Care. Respite care is an important part of the overall support that families may need to keep their senior family member at home. This allows the home caregiver to take a break from the daily challenges of caring for their loved one with special needs.
The Short Term Stay program provides an option for overnight accommodations for a few days or a few weeks, allowing caregivers to take an extended break or vacation while the person with dementia stays in a supervised, safe environment.
Our Short Term Stay program is also available for those needing assisted living, which allows for seniors to stay a few days or a few weeks, and is perfect for the senior that may be well enough to leave the hospital or physical therapy, but perhaps not quite well enough to take care of themselves at home, usually following an illness or an operation. Meals are provided, as well as medication management, 24 hour care staff, housekeeping, and laundry services.
