Maintaining the health, wellness, and safety of our residents is our number one priority. Due to the COVID-19 situation, effective immediately we are restricting visitors to our community. This is in cooperation with federal mandates regarding this situation. Letters regarding specific details are being sent to the responsible parties for our residents to provide them with more detailed information. In addition to restricting visits, our staff will be screened prior to the starting of their shifts and have been trained on the symptoms of COVID-19 as well as infection prevention techniques. This is a fluid situation and we will keep you informed as the situation changes. We appreciate your cooperation and patience. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
What Person Centered means:
At Gateway Gardens, caregivers are more focused on the resident than a task list. This doesn’t mean that task lists are not important. We believe that the residents in our care deserve the very best. We also believe that growing older doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice choices in the aspects of everyday life.
A resident isn’t ready to take a shower when a caregiver comes to assist with this task. The caregiver assists another resident with their shower and then comes back to the first resident and assists with the shower now that they are ready.
At Gateway Gardens, we do not believe that needs and choices are mutually exclusive. Residents enjoy the ability to communicate to staff about their wants and desires and actively participate in their care plan. We believe that residents shouldn’t have to choose between Dignity and Care.
